Greg "Net Boy" Eklund

If the water's blue, and over your head, you want "Net Boy" at the helm!!!!!!!

In one way, at least, I am the Donald Trump of the fishing world. Rich in friends beyond compare! Among those riches I'd surely count Greg Eklund!

He was a land kid when I met him. He'd come to the the Florida Keys, following his dream to become an offshore charter boat captain.  I'd seen lots of dreamers come and go from the tropics, but somehow I knew that Greg would stick. You could see the salt in every word he spoke. And there weren't many words...I liked that.

It didn't take him long to acquire a game boat, not the greatest one, but a starter, and it took him even less time to begin sparking the loveliest girl along the Keys!

Greg landed under the wing of Alex Adler, in my opinion, the top offshore hand of our time. Alex adopted very few, but recognized something in Greg that made him willing to invest. Greg was the perfect student for Alex, and Alex the perfect teacher. A game boat named the "Cloud Nine" (a clone of Alex's boat, the "Kalex") materialized and began turning up in all the right places at all the right times.

Meanwhile...Greg and Lynn dropped anchor! The perfect couple!!! A Conch and a Flatlander. What could possibly go wrong???

All of what Greg has accomplished since stepping onto the rocks that some call the Keys would take pages the chronicle. You wouldn't know him from some Gumbo Limbo that grew up out of the coral, his prairie roots forgotten, replaced by a deep water tan. He's a friend who remembers his friends. There is no higher compliment!!!

The "Cloud Nine" throws its' lines around pilings at Bud and Mary's Marina in Islamorada... the middle Florida Keys. You can reach Greg there if blue water calls to you. Greg knows and loves light tackle and fly fishing and has followed its' siren song around the watery globe. Don't miss the opportunity to spend time aboard the "Nine" and in Greg's company!!!

Tell him: Flip sent ya.
