Who I met when he arrived from Cuba in 1959 has been my friend since that day. Chico began fly fishing in Cuba. He fit right in with all of us in south Florida who were just beginning to fly fish salt water. Chico and I actually grew up with salt water fly fishing.

Chico and I attended the University of Miami together along with Norman Duncan (the Duncan Loop) and "Little" John Emery (who I had known since first grade). The four of us were inseperable and fished most days. Chico went on to become the first budget director for the then infant company Burger King. I went on to be a commercial bank lending officer. Chico married a flight attendant...and so did I (a different one). We then both left the world of finance to make our lifes work our love of fishing.
Chico and I still stay in close touch (although he owes me a call) and collaberate on a number of projects. He is a great fotographer, author, fly fisher, teacher and friend!
