From to Feb 6 2009
THERE'S NO HOLIDAY INN ON THE RIO UNINI! IT IS ONE OF THE MOST REMOTE, INACCESSABLE SPOTS ON THE PLANET. IT WORKS LIKE THIS...WE FLY FROM MIAMI ON THE 28TH OF JAN 2009 TO MANAOS, BRAZIL. WE'LL OVERNITE IN MANAOS AND IN THE MORNING HEAD FOR THE MOTHER SHIP BY FLOAT PLANE. IF WE GET THERE EARLY ENOUGH TO UNPACK AND RIG TACKLE, THERE MIGHT BE A CHANCE TO FISH THAT DAY FOR A BIT. IF NOT, WE'LL SPEND LOTS OF TIME RIGGING TACKLE, SELECTING FLIES/LURES AND ENJOYING ADULT BEVERAGES!!!!!!!! THE NEXT MORNING......GAME ON!!! EACH NITE THE MOTHER BOAT WILL MOVE US TO A NEW LOCATION (UNLESS WE LOVE THE OLD ONE) WHILE WE SLEEP. EACH MORNING WE'LL BEGIN FISHING A NEW AREA. AS YOU PROBABLY KNOW, PEACOCK BASS FISHING IS KEYED TO WATER LEVEL. AT THE TIME THAT WE WILL BE THERE, THE UNINI IS NORMALLY LOW (THAT'S VERY GOOD). SO LOW IN FACT, THAT BOATS ARE NOT ABLE TO ENTER THE RIVER. OUR BOAT, THE BLACKWATER EXPLORER, WILL HAVE ALREADY ENTERED, AND BE TRAPPED WITHIN THE RIVER. NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO FISH THE RIVER EXCEPT US...AND IT'S A VERY BIG RIVER. For more information go to AmazonAngling.com

It started many years ago with just Brian Flieschig and myself...We stayed at Florida city and fished the Everglades National Park or Biscayne Bay each day for a week in May (one of the very best times to fish these areas). We had so much fun and talked about it so much, that others expressed an interest in joining us Since those early gatherings, Brian has been able to book days with the best guides in the area for both the backcountry, the flats and the Gulf of Mexico wrecks. The menu for the week is: Bonefish/permit/tarpon in Biscayne Bay. Snook/redfish/trout/tarpon/snapper in the backcountry and cobia/mackeral/jewfish/snapper and who knows what in the Gulf. If you have some time in early May, and an interest in joining us, give Brian a call at Mad River Outfitters (614 451 0363); he'll fill you in on the details.

Main Amigo, Cpt. Greg Eklund had a corporate cancellation in the Bahamas. His game boat, the "Cloud Nine" is available to us from the 28th of May to and through the 5th of June. Two groups of four anglers per day for four days each group. First group flies over on the 27th of May and returns on the 1st of June. Second group arrives on the 1st of June and returns on the 6th of June. It's one of the very best fly fishing adventures that I know of....Bar None!!!!! Fishing is for blue marlin, dolphin, yellowfin tuna, grouper, kingfish, cero mackeral, yellowtail and bonefish. The cost is $2800.00 per day, divided by four ($700 per person) which includes all fishing, lodging and meals prepared by local women in the community of Cherokee. I've done this with Greg a number of times and rate it as one of the all time great adventures. After fishing offshore each day there are wonderful flats all around Cherokee Sound where you can wade for bonefish. If you wish to hire a bonefish guide in the afternoon there are some very excellent local guides available. This one is filling up quickly, so let me know if you are interested. Flip
